O-VPN

O-VPN available in two different type’s connectivity between the locations:

OpenSSL is GATEWAY-GATEWAY solutions. This enables to connect two or more location network transparently. This comes in the picture where client has more then 5-10 users at the remote location.
Open VPN  is a point to gateway Linux based VPN Software. It connects individual machine to the gateway.

Designed with autonomic computing features – self management, self-healing, self-configuring and self-optimizing capabilities – and leveraging the reliability and performance of Linux, O-VPN is a revolutionary VPN system. Working with existing IT environments or as a complete IT infrastructure replacement, O-VPN an affordable and simplified VPN solution, is easier to manage and use than any traditional VPN systems. It provides complete VPN solutions with messaging and collaboration, security-enhanced internet access and protected accessibility. Unique technologies and innovative management tools make it easy to provide secure and reliable IT infrastructure solutions.

O-VPN Core Technologies and Services:

O-VPN contains core technologies and services that incorporate autonomic functionality and build on the strengths of Linux to deliver a superior and cost-effective VPN system.
OPENVPN – SSL Virtual Private Network
Employing the Internet as a connection medium, the OPENVPN-SSL Virtual Private Network solution delivers a safe and easy way to connect office to each other. Data is secured in transit using the 128 bit Blowfish encryption algorithm or using standard SSL.
Choose between static-key based conventional encryption or certificate-based public key encryption.
Use static, pre-shared keys or TLS-based dynamic key exchange
Use real-time adaptive link compression and traffic-shaping to manage link bandwidth utilization.
Tunnel network whose public endpoints are dynamic such as DHCP or dial-in clients.
Tunnel networks through connection-oriented stateful firewalls without having to use explicit firewall rules.
Tunnel networks over NAT,

Benefits of O-VPN:
Stability: O-VPN is a SSL based VPN system that is built in Linux Kernel and incorporates autonomic elements making it extremely stable, reliable and secure. O-VPN  principal strength include cross-platform portability across most of the known computing universe, excellent stability, scalability to hundreds or thousands of clients, relatively easy installation, and support for dynamic IP addresses and NAT.

Security: O-VPN  uses an industrial-strength security model designed to protect against both passive and active attacks. O-VPN’s security model is based on using SSL/TLS for session authentication and the IPSec ESP protocol for secure tunnel transport over UDP. O-VPN supports the X509 PKI (public key infrastructure) for session authentication, the TLS protocol for key exchange, the OpenSSL cipher-independent EVP interface for encrypting tunnel data, and the HMAC-SHAI algorithm for authenticating tunnel data.

Reliability: The benefits of this modularity can be seen, for example, in the way that O-VPN can be dynamically linked with a new version of the OpenSSL library and immediately have access to any new functionality provided in the new release. For example, when O-VPN built with the latest version of OpenSSL (0.9.7), it automatically has access to new ciphers such as AES-256 (advanced Encrption Standard with 256 bit key) and the encryption engine capability of OpenSSL that allows utilization of special-purpose hardware accelerators to optimize encryption, decryption, and authentication performance.

Faster: O-VPN is fast, using TLS-based session authentication, the Blowfish cipher, SHAI authentication for the tunnel data, and tunneling and FTP session with large, recompressed files, O-VPN achieved a send/receive transfer rate of 1.455 Mbytes per second of CPU time (combined kernel and user time.)
